When Elina contacted me she wanted to see if we could photograph somewhere other than the beach. She says that the architecture and scenery in Honolulu is constantly changing and it’d be a different to preserve the scenery the way it is. I had yet to photograph the rich urban Honolulu architecture with a family, so this was the perfect time to do that.
There are a lot of interesting buildings, textures and colors in downtown Honolulu and it makes for a wonderful backdrop. I especially enjoyed it because my background is in Interior Architecture. I’m really happy that Elina suggested it. It allows me to open my world even more.
Elina’s family was wonderful… it was an early morning and their little boy was a little shy…. at first….
Adorable little guy, yes? I didn’t know just yet, but he was ready to run circles!
Elina is a busy mom to these two… a handful… it’s not easy to relax with kids during a photo session, but they all did great!
Baby girl… isn’t she a doll?
We found this great little area.. with a beautiful window and window box planter… you don’t see many of these around here. If you do, please tell me where!
By this time in our session… Elina’s son was ready to run… he was so cute… he really couldn’t sit still. All I can say, is let the kids be kids… this is who they are at this age and it will be fun to look back at as they get older.
These doors are such a cool backdrop! See! He’s ready to run!
We ended our urban photo session at Harbor Court with the Aloha Tower in the backdrop… Thank you Elina and family for spending your morning with me, your family was really wonderful! Warmest Aloha, ~j
