I love when I get inquiries from people who have seen my work from a previous photo shoot that I’ve done. It means they’ve seen my work and they love it. Judy was one of those awesome people. She told me that all her kids would be on island at one time and now is the best time. Her daughter Stacy would be visiting for Thanksgiving with her family from the mainland and she wanted to get her grand babies together with herself and her mother, yes, that would be great-grandmother.
We met at Waialae Beach and on this particular morning, the beach was busy. A small beach ceremony on one corner, a Japanese newly wedded couple in another corner having their photo’s done and then a group of beach goer’s cleaning the beach… lots of stuff to work around, but thankfully we pulled it off and I love that the beach looks like it was all ours. I love this photo. I love all 4 generations of women in this image, love the blue colors binding their family bond and I love that tree.
Daughter Cindy and her girls… Emme and Jenn. We missed dad, he had to work! Bummer.
Very happy I was able to capture big sis and little sis together for this one.
Daughter Stacey and her family. Poor little guy was a bit fussy this morning, but that’s ok, everyone is entitled to get beached out once in awhile.
As mom was comforting her baby, I took a step back and just let things unfold. Sometimes the best images are the ones you don’t expect, you just let them happen.
Up close.
Judy and her man…. love the way the wind knows when to flip the hair and make my photo’s awesome.
The sky is absolutely stunning here in Hawaii… Cindy and Judy make it all the more stunning.
Like I said, I love to sneak in a few minutes of just observing and seeing what happens. Emme needed some alone time and I was able to capture this. Beautiful.
Thank you Odachi Family for spending your morning with me.. I had a great time meeting all of you. Much Aloha! ~j

That was beautiful, thank you so much Emily. Heartfelt.
Such a beautiful picture.
Jennifer, you have such a gift for photographing love in a family. I’ve known Stacy Odachi for like 28 years, and I just loved the way you captured the family’s spirit and vibrance. Of course the backdrop of Waialae beach never hurts, but I think it’s mostly the photographer 🙂
Beautiful
Fabulous family!
