I’m not going to lie to you. I always get a case of the nervous butterflies in my gut whenever I go to a photoshoot. It doesn’t matter if it’s one person, two people or in this case thirteen, not counting the three doggies. But when I get there, all the butterflies fly away and I thrive on the energy, the excitement and above all… ABOVE ALL, I thrive on the love. Yes, I know, sounds soo cheesy… but it’s true. When I have my camera and when the love collides in front of it, I get really excited, I am in my element and I just can’t wait to see how our time together unfolds. The Atkins family was no exception. There was so much love! A new baby boy and another baby boy, a toddler, an i-Touch toting pre-pre teen, a handful of uncles to throw ball, two doting mothers, the grands and the two to blame for it all… the great grands! Four generations… so awesome, I can’t tell you. It was a full house to say the least! I had the honor and pleasure of photographing this big, beautiful, growing family in my hometown of Tracy.
This is Sarah and Travis and their new son. The joys of being a new mom and dad. I loved photographing them. Their universe centered on their baby and just the three of them. They were just being and that’s the best part.
This is Michelle and Tyler and their boys. Michelle and Tyler are seasoned parents and obviously had a lot more to juggle, but it really makes it all that more fun. I have three kids too, so I can relate to getting the kids ready and out of the dirt while you’re trying to get yourself ready as well. Michelle did a magnificent job, Tyler too, dad gets props. It’s a tradition in this family that grandma gives the first haircuts. I thought that was a cool tradition.
These two love birds are the great grands. All the way from Texas. Grandma just smiled and enjoyed while Grandpa snuck some glances and just enjoyed too.
She took me aside and gave me a hug and thanked me. Just look at her and all her young 85, gorgeous no?
These are the grands… happy to step-in and entertain the grandbabies when required. I’m so glad they showed a little love too.
Uncle Ned also came down to make this a real family get together.
Such a cutie! They were all awesome!
edited to add: (for some reason this one didn’t make it into the slideshow, sorry, but it’s definitely in your disk)
