So.. this is my mom. She stopped by for a spell yesterday and we basically goofed off for the camera. That’s our idea of goofing off. I think it should be done at least 24 times a year. Looking at these images reminds me that I’m WAAAY behind on the goofing off quotient, but at least we started.
My mom is a few inches taller than me, so that’s me on my tippy-toes and that’s her squatting to my level….. I like to think that some of my mom’s fun, fun flava rubbed off on me.
I’ve always been very serious, afraid to show emotion, always in charge, always the mature one. I feel that a lot of times I have Batman’s Joker running through my head saying “Why so Seerious??” As my kids have gotten older, I have allowed me to have more fun and have allowed myself a lot more leeway for being silly and letting go.
It’s been really nice… I dance a lot more, I don’t care who’s watching me… I sing in the car and wave my hands in the air like I just don’t care, snap my fingers and revel in the music that’s playing. I laugh a whole heck of a lot more, and as loud as I could. I’m not a free spirit like my mom, but I’m growing into my smile, my laughter and my devil may care… like her….
David made margarita’s while she was here, because it was Father’s Day and he felt like it. (Totally fine with me!) He offered her a glass, she took a sip and said “Hit me again with that tequila ’till I could feel it”… HA! That’s totally my mom! Loves it! That’s the side of my mom that I want to be when I grow up.
Her grandbabies are her new found life… she lives and breathes for these troublemakers…
The one on the right there, in the pink, my middle child, she got a lot of grandma’s swing. She’s a free spirit, always wants to go out on an adventure, a little one person party, just like her grandma.
Anyway, that’s my little blurbpost on my mamma… I love you mom! so much!
Happy Monday!
xo,
