Redland Photographer and Indoor Plant Lover
One thing I left behind in Hawaii was all my beloved plants. During my last few years in my home there, I was able to curate a gorgeous assortment of gorgeous indoor plants and succulents. It brought me a great source of joy. My mom has always loved plants and I could care less. It wasn’t until my last few years in Hawaii where I just (out of no where) developed a great love for plants. I knew the names of all the plants I brought home and in Hawaii, it’s not hard to maintain them in the humid weather. You just had to watch out for the sun, because the sun can burn and dry out fast, but you begin to learn what your plant can and cannot tolerate.
I went out today in search of some happiness again and found a few beautiful lovelies. Pictured above there is a beautiful Monstera plant. I always found these to be huge in size in Hawaii everywhere I went, planted into the soil on the side of the fancy resorts landscaping, but what they sold in the store were the little 6″ pots with a few foliaged stems and they were never labeled properly, so searching for them was not an easy task. You really had to find that tale-tell signature leaf and you new it was a Monstera. To my surprise, I found one at my local Lowe’s store and I just had to take her home with me! Of course, I wouldn’t be a photographer if I didn’t give it it’s own photoshoot! LOL. She definitely knows her angles and how to show me her beautiful smile… I know! I am a plant lover through and through.

I found this gorgeous babe at an indoor plant shop that I was searching for online. I find that the big box chains here in my general vicinity don’t have a wide selection… I was extremely spoiled in Hawaii with the plant selections of the big box chains… not looking back though, looking forward and onward! Glad I found Piep in Riverside, CA. What a cute little shop! This is a Watermelon Peperomia. Isn’t she sweet? She knew exactly how to pose for me, I didn’t have to ask her a thing, she knows her camera angles well!

My oldest daughter found this little diva at Home Depot. It’s a Maiden Hair Fern. She is temperamental and sassy. She needs her light to be “oh so right” and her space to breathe. I’ve never had much luck with these sassy pants plants… but my daughter was up for the challenge. Right now she sits on the desk next to a humidifier… I hope my daughter has enough sense to look up how to care for this diva, I for one can’t deal with the Maiden Hair Fern’s demands anymore.

Just look at this beautiful lady! She is a “Jade and Pearl” Pathos. She was just hanging on the ceiling at Peip and my daughter said she is the one. This Pathos is elegant and classy. She will let you know what she needs and when she needs it, a very easy plant to care for. Set her near indirect sunlight and water her when her soil is dry and she will just love you.
