Happy Labor Day! I hope you are enjoying your day off… we are a little blue in the Brotchie household, Mr. Brotchie is flying out to Okinawa today for 2 weeks for work. He’s a civil engineer in case you are wondering. So we are missing him already.
Anyway…. when we first moved to Oahu, we were exploring new beaches on the island. A co-worker of my husbands suggested we go to the Windward side and check out Waimanalo Beach. I packed up the kids and off we went. It is a gorgeous beach, but really, not many Un-Gorgeous beaches around this island to be found. It was my first experience of white soft sand on my toes and turquoise waters against brilliant blue skies. It was windy though. I understood the label of “Windward Side” now. We only spent about 45 minutes at Waimanalo Beach and we really had the whole beach to ourselves. I happened to have plopped a rectangle slice of sand for myself as my children played in the water. In the distance was a newly married couple getting photographed by their photographer. Of course, I grabbed my camera and snapped off a few of these photos.
Just wanted to make clear that I was sitting watching my kids play and these were not my clients.. but these were the shots I got as a casual observer. This is exactly what I saw at this time of day…
… and not to be outdone, here are my kiddo’s in the water at the same time I was snapping the couple on the beach. Enjoy your Labor Day!!
Much Aloha,
~j
Waimanalo Beach is a perfect place on the Windward side to have your intimate beach wedding ceremony as well as to gather your family for a fun vacation photo shoot.
