I first met Melissa and Jake in early, early 2011. Like February 2011. When I was still living in California. They were very SWEET and let me know that their wedding wasn’t until sometime in 2012. I thought to myself.. that’s quite a way out there, in the waaaaaay distant future. They said, “We know, but we really like you and we want you to be our photographer.” Can I just say that right then as those words came spilling forth, I thought they were even SWEETER! I could tell that they were excited to be embarking on this journey of wedding planning but at the same time, they were putting their feeler’s out and glancing at each other for approval. Since then, we had met once for their engagement session and then again for their wedding. I flew back to California for a quick trip, excited to finally be photographing their big day at the Embassy Suites in Old Sacramento.
It was a rainy, blustery day in Sacramento, but it wouldn’t spoil this day for Melissa and Jacob. They were busy in the hustle and bustle of preparing for one of the most important days of their lives.
I had some fun with the girls and got this shoe shot…
After Melissa was dressed, she was having fun and was ready to go… she looks so serene!
Not to be outdone by her groom, Jake… very dapper!
Had some great fun with this shot inside the hotel…
A few quiet moments, newly married…
Very sweet and happy… I love that! Thank you Melissa and Jake for putting your trust in me those many, many months ago! I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness and aloha!
