Places to Visit, Oahu, North Shore
I’m sure you’ve seen it before… all my other posts about North Shore, Oahu. I can’t help it, I really love this part of the island. I live closer to this side of the island, so it’s a convenient drive. I’m here regularly. Above is the Anahulu River in Haleiwa. We love to go paddle boarding down this river. You will also see kayaker’s, but lately it’s predominately been paddle boarders. It’s just really peaceful and calming. Occasionally, you will see sea turtles pop up here and there.
Not too far from the stream is this rotisserie chicken stand… they make the best huli huli chicken. As of this posting, it is $10 (cash) for a whole chicken, chopped, which is a pretty good deal on this side of the island. Get yourself some french bread at the local market, and you got yourself a pretty good meal. I always ask for the $1 dipping sauce to kick it up a notch.
We get it to go (there’s no seating to enjoy it there) and have a nice meal at the beach. $10 chicken and a loaf of french bread… enough for my growing family of 5. Don’t expect to see the stand on weekdays though, Saturday and Sunday only.
Plenty of places to rent yourself a surf board, paddle board or kayak… Or just chill and people watch.
Of course, I like to chill and take photos. Here are some highlights…
When you come visit, be sure to get in touch to schedule your family photo shoot with me! Warmest Aloha, ~j
