Christmas at the Disney Aulani Resort
It’s about that time of year, right?! Christmas!! Hawaii is Christmassy too… just not as cold as the rest of the nation… but that’s why you come to Hawaii, right?! Temperatures this time of year mid day get to about the mid 70’s which is still really, really nice. My family go on a weekend “Staycation” early in December and stay at the Disney Aulani Resort. Don’t laugh… most local Hawaiian’s do “staycations” because why would we have to leave this beautiful island? The pool temperature at the Disney Aulani Resort is nice all year round and it’s big enough so you don’t feel crowded. ..

I brought my 35 mm film camera as my walk around camera, not my professional digital camera (my pro cam is heavy and such a liability for me if I were to have an accident, so it stays at home). I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked to because, honestly, I just really wanted to relax! Photography is my profession, so even as a leisure hobby, sometimes I can’t get myself to lift a finger and hit the shutter button. It’s the last thing I want to do when I have a weekend off. I managed to take a few photos… but looking back, I wish I had taken more photos of this lovely resort. It was such a nice weekend!

The veranda outside of the lobby looks out over the pools at the resort… I can never get away from what I love to shoot the most.. people! LOL… I’m laughing because I really should have taken a shot of the pools down below and not the people meandering about.

The Lazy River…. the Disney Aulani Resort also has a water park area for the little ones to play around in and I think three adult only pools. My favorite pool is the heated infinity pool that overlooks the lagoons and the Pacific Ocean… get in there with a cocktail in hand and relax!
