I hadn’t really met Sabrina, yet. We were FaceBook friends twice removed. Timing was right when I announced that I was moving to Hawaii and she contacted me immediately to see if I’d be able to photograph her intimate ceremony at Ka’anapali Beach in Maui to Ryan. It was Thanksgiving weekend and the weather had turned in Maui. As the day wore on, the wind and drizzle kicked up. In my heart, I knew it didn’t matter because Sabrina and Ryan were on Maui and when it comes to what matters most, these two would be wed. I knew that the love and passion between these two kind hearts would shine through the wind and the drizzle.
Sabrina came out and the drizzle fought it’s way to pour on us, but Sabrina’s and Ryan’s light, I AM ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE, commanded that the worst of the weather to hold off just long enough for them to commit their love only for one another.
The ceremony was perfect. The guest list, intimate. The vows, soulful. The love, abundant.
Sabrina… You blow my mind away… stunning… STUNning….STUNNING!!!!
Sabrina made it a point to mention that her mother couldn’t make the trip to Hawaii. I bear witness that she was in Sabrina’s and Ryan’s thoughts throughout the ceremony.
There wasn’t a dry eye on the beach. Ryan promised to take care of Sabrina and her two children… those words of promise emanated through everyone present.
The light quickly faded and the wet weather couldn’t hold off any longer…. we quickly made our way to the reception and I persuaded the newlyweds to oblige me to capture more of their love.
We managed to pry ourselves away from the reception and with not much coaxing in the dim light… you can just Fuh-get-about-it…..
Sabrina!! You are on FI-YA!!! Smokin’!
Oh man…. They didn’t need ANY direction from me!!! Va-va-va-voooooom!
Sabrina and Ryan… from the bottom of my heart… thank you for trusting me with my vision and going with it… The skies were grey, but both your beauty and love brightened the moments between as evidenced here….. Much Aloha, ~jennifer
