Dalgona Coffee with Ice Cream

Quarantine Day 39: or should I say Safer at Home Day 39? Whatever it is, we’ve been at home for 39 days doing our best to isolate and social distance ourselves from the world.  I’ve only just begun to overcome my fear and anxiety and have been out to the Post Office (waited in line for about 10 minutes behind 7 other people), been to Home Depot- a quick in and out, and ventured to our local grocery store, where I haven’t been in in about a month’s time.  Been going on some walk with the kids and called in for pick up some Boba drink from our local store.  It’s a different world out there! We go out in our home made masks and I always bring my fanny pack filled with Lysol wipes and Purell hand sanitizer.  I have become a hand nazi- sorry for the choice of word, I don’t know how else to explain it… I never touch my hands to my face ever, even when I’m at home.  I grab some kleenex tissue or I use my sleeve if I have an itch. I’m constantly very aware of where my fingertips have been and I don’t dare touch them to my face.  When we receive our Boba drinks, I wipe them down with the Lysol wipe before handing it over to the kids and just to be safe, they get a squirt of hand sanitizer before taking the drink.  Everyone has masks on and it’s surreal but necessary. One way aisles are in place at my local grocery store, which I feel good about.  Some folks don’t pay attention and will dare get into my airspace by not heeding into the one way aisle… I will let them know gently that this is a one way aisle and they are quick to turn around.  To keep everyone safe, it’s just the way it has to be.

On another note, have you tried Dalgona Coffee?  It’s a whipped coffee made popular in South Korea and it’s sooo easy to make! Here’s a YouTube video for a tutorial… we’ve made it several times already… but now we add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to it and OH WOW, next level deliciousness!  Guys, you gotta try it for a quick pick me up middle of the afternoon treat!

Seriously, I am finding great enjoyment photographing my home creations.. I’m a foodie at heart, I love to eat and I love trying out new recipes at home.

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
