I had the honor of photographing many couples in my wedding photography career. I am so blessed to have so many trust me, not only with their photographs, but to trust my creativity… to love how I capture their love through my camera. I can’t tell you enough how passionate I am about what I do. It’s not just a job, for me, it’s truly a love. In my travels, I’ve been able to go from the west coast of California. From San Francisco, Napa to Honolulu, North Shore and Maui. I’m beyond words the opportunity that I’ve been granted.
For most people, I think, just getting the image is of high importance. I say, Yes! Yes it is… but even more important is conveying your emotions, your thoughts, your knowing looks, the hidden meaning behind your glances.. this is what I strive to do…. STRIIIIVE! Each couple I photograph as they get married… this is what I want to do. Most often times with weddings in Hawaii, I don’t meet my couples until the day of the ceremony… like 5 or 10 minutes before they are to walk down the sand to the shore. I think I’ve been truly blessed with couples who see my work and say Yes! Yes, she’s the photographer for us… She’s the one who I’m going to trust.
I’ve really gotta say thank you, thank you, thank you… a million times over. This couple got married at the Mormon Temple in Sacramento. Her mom (bless her heart) coordinated everything.. I literally met the bride and groom as they walked out the temple doors. I love the LDS temple’s.. they are a magnificent piece of architecture and just a wonderful backdrop to the happy bride and groom.
Another couple here, who’s mother coordinated everything as well (bless her heart too!) I literally just met them as well as they walked out the temple doors… sometimes, that’s just how it is.. and I gotta go with it… thank goodness they trust me enough to feel comfortable.. can’t you tell?
This couple had their wedding at their family ranch … I love when I get to let the day unfold… I gotta say that I’m blessed to have wonderful, easy going couples.
This couple contacted me through FaceBook… feel free to be my friend or FaceBook fan.. you’ll never know when you need me. These two I hope can look back at their wedding day last November and at least laugh about it. It was in Maui, Thanksgiving weekend. The day had been raining and windy and unusually cold. The bride couldn’t get her hair and make up done (timing issues) and when I arrived, without previously meeting her mind you, she fell into my arms in tears. All I could do was give her hug, tell her it was going to be ok, and that what was most important was that she was going to marry the man she loves. Everything ended up fine… she’s a natural beauty and really, just the love in her face for her new husband emanated beyond a less than enjoyable pre-wedding experience.
After the ceremony, I was able to pull them from their guests and just have them concentrate on each other. It was an overcast day and the weather was just miserable… rain and wind!!! I got these pretty sizzling shots anyway at about 6:30 in the evening… in case you are wondering, we were at a strip mall and I made use of available light, my flash and my surroundings… and really honed in on these two. Afterall, when you look back at your photo’s, yeah the scenery is nice, but what fun is THAT when your photo’s can’t tell you a story… Your Story.
I have to tell you that it’s my most sexiest images of a bride and groom ever.
I have more to show you, but I’m gonna save that for a part 2. So until then, thank you for visiting my site and enjoy your Monday! Aloha!!! ~j
