Redlands Portraits| Joshua Tree to Big Bear Lake
We’ve been taking some day trips to explore SoCal and get some outside time on the weekends. On this day, we started at one of the off roading entrances of Joshua Tree Valley and of course, stopped a long the way for photo ops. If you are a frequent visitor here, you’ll notice that I have exclusively been photographing with my film camera. I just love film.

Just look at this backdrop! So pretty! Film is great for zero editing and color adjustments, I do none of that. Dial in your settings and your set! I used to spend hours and hours behind the computer adjusting colors and enhancing digital images. If you go back several pages on my website, you will see my family photo sessions that will attest to that. I had a pretty good flow system going but honestly, I love photographing with my film camera and not having to add computer time on the to do list.

This Chevy Suburban was one of the best purchases, it’s over 20 years old and was very well loved by it’s previous family… and now we get to love it up and it takes us to places we would not normally travel to. My husband wants to covert it to an overlander camper. Slowly but surely, the pieces will come together.

Found this tree swing, so of course, we had to stop the car and take a spin. Very pretty scenery. We started in the desert and gradually made our way to the snowy mountains.

Look how pretty this is! Lots of fire roads out there on the Bureau of Land Management websites.. but you must have an appropriate off roading vehicle to drive on them, otherwise, you will find yourself stuck, hoping for a rescue… but the scenery it leads you too is beautiful.
